Case Study · Realtor · Brand & Digital Authority

A solid start, elevated into a brand of her own.

An established Coquitlam realtor with a real, growing business — whose presence still lived on a shared brokerage template. We elevated it: a full rebrand from the old logo up, a defined voice, colour and positioning, a custom website she owns, and an authority program that took the domain from near-zero to genuinely credible in about four months.

TL;DR
Brief
Jaklin Dalir, an established Coquitlam Personal Real Estate Corporation, had a real business but a presence that lived on a shared brokerage template — solid, but not yet distinct or truly hers, with an Ahrefs Domain Rating of 0.3. The goal: elevate an already-good professional into an ownable personal brand with real authority. The work: a full rebrand (logo, voice, colour, positioning), a custom website, and an authority program — near-zero to credible in about four months.
The Situation · Before

A good foundation, ready to stand apart.

Jaklin was already an established Personal Real Estate Corporation with a real, growing business — the foundation was there. What held the presence back was shared infrastructure: it lived on a brokerage/platform template, so it looked much like every other agent’s and gave her own domain little to build authority on.

The old brand wasn’t bad — it simply wasn’t yet distinct, and it wasn’t fully hers. The opportunity was to take a professional already doing good work and give her a brand and a platform as considered as her service.

Where the domain started

Across the tools the domain read as brand-new: Ahrefs Domain Rating 0.3, Moz “not enough data yet,” Semrush authority near zero. Not a problem to fix so much as a foundation to build — the authority simply hadn’t been established on her own domain yet.

So we rebranded, from the logo up

We refreshed the existing logo into a refined, restrained mark and a considered emerald colour palette — premium and approachable, never flashy. We defined a clear positioning (a strategic, resale-focused advisor for Coquitlam, not a volume salesperson) and a calm, confident voice (“let’s explore your options,” not pressure tactics). Then we moved her off the shared template onto a custom website she owns — so the brand and the domain finally belonged to her.

The goal wasn’t to fix something broken — it was to make an already-good professional unmistakable.

The Work · Strategy first

Brand first. Authority followed.

We defined who the brand was before touching a single pixel — then built the site to express it, and grew the authority to back it.

01 · Brand Strategy
Define the brand before the design
We set the foundation from established models — personality (Sincerity + Competence, with controlled Sophistication) and a blended archetype led by The Advisor. The essence: trustworthy, strategic, confident. A resale-focused advisor for Coquitlam, not another volume salesperson.
02 · Voice & Positioning
Calm guidance, not pressure
The voice was written to build trust: “Let’s explore your options” and “based on current market conditions” — deliberately avoiding “act now” and “don’t miss out.” Positioned as strategic guidance, it attracts clients who value preparation over quick wins.
03 · Rebrand & Visual Identity
A refreshed logo and an ownable look
We evolved the existing logo into a restrained new mark built on balance and clarity, paired with a refined emerald palette and considered typography — premium and approachable, never flashy. One consistent system across every touchpoint.
04 · Custom Website
Off the template, onto an owned platform
We replaced the shared brokerage template with a custom, branded website she owns — fast, distinct, and built so the domain could finally accumulate its own authority instead of blending into a platform.
05 · Authority Program
Patient, white-hat link building
A steady program of relevant, reputable links — directories, profiles, partnerships and genuine mentions. In about four months: referring domains climbed to 497, backlinks to 738, Ahrefs Domain Rating from 0.3 to 44, and Semrush & Moz authority from 0 to 12. No link buying — just consistency.
Now · AI Visibility
Showing up where buyers now ask
With a consistent brand and real authority behind it, the site is already surfacing in Google’s AI Mode and Perplexity — the answer engines buyers and sellers increasingly ask for recommendations. The organic-traffic foundation is set and compounding.

The Playbook

What we'd do again, for any agent or solo professional.

You can't stand out on a template everyone else uses. You win with a real brand, an owned platform, and authority that compounds.

01

Brand before tactics

A distinct identity — clear positioning, a calm voice, an ownable look — is what makes an agent memorable. Ads and posts amplify a brand; they can’t replace one. We defined the brand first, so everything after it had something to say.

02

Own your platform

A shared brokerage or portal template builds the platform’s authority, not yours — and looks identical to a thousand other agents. A custom site you own lets your own domain finally earn its own rating.

03

Authority compounds

Steady, white-hat links move Domain Rating and increasingly decide whether AI answers name you. DR 0.3 → 44 wasn’t a trick — it was a patient, consistent program, and it keeps compounding.

About this case study

Plain answers. Pulled from the work.

Why does a realtor need their own brand instead of the brokerage website?
Brokerage and platform templates are shared by thousands of agents, so the page looks identical to everyone else and builds no distinct identity or domain authority. A custom personal brand — clear positioning, voice, visual identity and an owned website — is what makes an agent memorable and lets their own domain earn authority over time.
What is Domain Rating and why does it matter for a realtor?
Domain Rating (DR) is Ahrefs’ 0–100 measure of a website’s backlink authority. A brand-new realtor site typically sits near 0. Here the site went from DR 0.3 to DR 44 with 497 referring domains — a credibility signal that helps it compete, get discovered, and increasingly be cited by AI answer engines.
How do you build authority for a new real estate website?
Start with a distinct brand and an owned, custom website, then earn links steadily from relevant, reputable sources — local and industry directories, profiles, partnerships and genuine mentions. Consistency beats volume: this realtor reached 497 referring domains and DR 44 through a patient, white-hat program, not link buying.
Do AI search engines matter for realtors now?
Increasingly, yes. Buyers and sellers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers for recommendations. A consistent brand plus authority signals make an agent more likely to be named — this realtor’s site is already surfacing in Google’s AI Mode and Perplexity results.
How long does it take to grow a realtor's brand and authority?
Brand strategy and a custom website can be delivered in weeks; authority compounds after that. Here the rebrand and site came first, then the domain authority climbed fast — to Ahrefs DR 44 and Semrush & Moz 12 — in about four months, and keeps compounding.
