What is Backlink?

Backlink

A backlink is a link from another website to yours. Search engines treat backlinks as votes of confidence: a link from a respected, relevant site tells Google your page is trustworthy, which helps it rank. But quality beats quantity — a handful of links from reputable local publications, associations, and industry sites is worth far more than hundreds of low-quality directory links, which can even hurt you. Earning backlinks through genuinely useful content, original data, and real relationships is slow but durable; buying them is a penalty risk.
